Recent directing includes productions at the Ancram Opera House in the Hudson River Valley: A bilingual adaptation of AUNT LEAF developed with Mexican performer Indira Pensado; Young Jean Lee's WE'RE GONNA DIE; PERFORMING OLANA, a site-specific piece devised and staged on the grounds of Olana, home of Hudson River School painter Frederic Church and the American premiere of Kevin Dyer's play, IN PRAISE OF ELEPHANTS.
Other directing highlights include a residency at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to develop a music-theater adaptation of THE SNOW QUEEN and the world premiere of AUNT LEAF at HERE, NYC, created through the HERE Artist in Residence Program. Both pieces have been written by longtime collaborator, playwright Barbara Wiechmann.
Currently co-director of the Ancram Opera House with Paul Ricciardi, other positions include guest directing or teaching at Brandeis University, Emerson College, University at Albany and Siena College and a 12-year tenure as founding artistic director of the award-winning Coyote Theater in Boston.
